James Watt North - Office Refurbishment
Location: James Watt North, Levels 2-4, Glasgow, G12 8LU
Zone: 3
Project Overview:
The James Watt North Building formerly housed IT services staff who were relocating to Tay House and the Library. The adjacent James Watt School of Engineering is experiencing significant growth, and the project was to repurpose the building for their use.
The project refurbished areas of Levels 2, 3 and 4 of the building to provide workspace and the associated adjacent facilities for PhDs, PDRAs and Academic staff.
A key aspect of the project was that it formed a pilot to demonstrate the possibilities of agile/ shared work environments to inform future decision making.
The project also rectified fabric issues identified within the existing building including stonework repairs, roof repairs, window repairs and internal doors.
